Yes, Happy Fourth! Go out and go crazy with fireworks but don't get hurt!

But let's not forget what it took to get us here. Many years of blood, which is represented by the red stripes on the flag. White signifying the innocents and ideals that brought our nation through the hardship. And blue, for the powerful leaders that have showed us through the darkness.

Of course, there are many interpretations to the colors. This is my personal favorite.

As this Independence Day passes, consider all the good that we have done. We have the stereotype of sticking our nose into other people's business which is not true. We only get involved if we are broguht in. Al'Qaeda brought us into the middle east. Vietnam, Korea, those were to stop the spread of communism which destroys the country's people slowly and gives no freedom. We were forced into World War II after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. And so on and so on.

Our anscestors fought for our independence. For the government to stop controling every aspect of their lives. To stop taxing without representation. Yet, now these things are beginning to happen again. The government is starting to control us and is breaking and twisting the Constitution to its own will. Eminent domain for example. Within the last twenty or so years, Congress changed the purpose of land taken from "public use" to "public good." Public use was for schools, libraries, civil buildings and so on. Public good can be interpreted freely, allowing the government to take it and sell it for more than they gave the person to a private constrution company. Fair? What our forefathers wanted? Definitely not. I have no aversion to public assistance but it seems that this socialistic system we are living under causes us to become less united and more a "me" generation. Granted, this can also be from other causes. But I do believe that socialist movements create less of a sense of unity and more of a sense of being stuck with the person.

All in all, this Independence Day, let us remember what our forefathers fought for and let us pray that we will protest the actions of our government now. Power to the STATES, not the Federal system.
